xxxWhich council person has really listened to and voiced the concerns of the people of Loveland? Who has consistently provoked the thought and debate vital to the many provocative issues that have come before our city council over the last few years? Who has often been the only voice against the automatic? If you are Republican or Democrat, new or old to Loveland, wealthy or not, Paul Elliott's voice on Loveland City Council represents independent thinking and deserves one of your votes.

• SMART GROWTH
xxxxxxWe need to critique our somewhat antiquated master plan with an eye towards cautious growth. This should include a fiscal responsibility in terms of infrastructure, especially as it relates to fire, police, emergency and recreational services.

• FINANCES & TAXES
xxxxxxFirst we should more carefully manage current resources for basic services. We have all seen the unfettered growth of local city governments. Bigger is not always better. All new projects should be subject to the test of taxpayer usefulness and desire.

• OPEN GOVERNMENT
xxxxxxOpen & accessible government is a fundamental must. "Transparency" of government functions must not be just some catch phrase. Transparency must be a reality. Citizen input adds much needed vitality to local government.

• RECREATION
xxxxxxLoveland is blessed with many fine parks , wonderful hill sides and green spaces, and two valuable nature preserves. These all need to be cherished and protected. Park repairs and improvements should be priority one. We should continue to pursue affordable, inclusive recreational facilities and programs of all our residents.

• ZONING
xxxxxxZoning laws should protect existing neighborhoods. The city and prospective developers must abide by a clearly defined set of standards for any new development. New development must respect and enhance exisitng homes and businesses.
